Project Overview

One-story, 10,000 sf public service center for the California Department of Motor Vehicles.  First LEED® Gold certified building in San Joaquin County.  Incorporates a range of sustainable building materials, energy monitoring systems, daylighting, high performance glazing systems, drought tolerant landscaping, water efficient irrigation, and other features to minimize the facility’s environmental footprint.

Mechanical Highlights

  • 47% water use reduction from calculated baseline design through the use of dual flush water closets, water free urinals and low flow faucets.
  • 4 points for LEED® Credit EA 1, Optimize Energy Performance, through prescriptive compliance with ASHRAE Advanced Energy Design Guide for Small Office Buildings.
  • Implementation of an enhanced commissioning program.
  • Outdoor air ventilation rates 30% above the minimum rates required by ASHRAE Standard 62.1-2004 to enhance indoor air quality.
  • Provision of carbon dioxide sensors in all densely occupied spaces and outdoor airflow measurement devices for each mechanical ventilation system to ensure that outdoor air ventilation rates are maintained.
