Project Overview

The Academy campus includes fourteen separate buildings and is used for advanced fire fighting and crisis management training including aviation, high angle rescues, fuel storage tanks, chemical and petroleum plants and mine rescues.  Structures included staff residence, administration building, cafeteria and recreation building, classrooms, observation tower, and a fire station. 

Mechanical Highlights

  • Installed underground firewater and dual contained fuel oil distribution systems to 14 fire training pads.
  • Make-up fire water was provided by two wells feeding three each two million gallon ponds and pumped to the fire training pads via three vertical turbine, diesel driven pumps.
